The necessity of war for maintaining love’s connection tells us something profound about existence. Love, as represented by Venus, is not merely a passive state of harmony. It requires active protection, preservation, and sometimes confrontation with forces that seek to tear it apart. Mars, the god of war, enters here as the necessary counterpart to Venus, representing the struggle required to maintain what Venus establishes. Without the will to fight, the connections formed by love would erode under the natural entropy of life, where divergence, decay and disconnection are inevitable.

Many believe love cannot be defined, but it can. Love is the essence of connection. Many falsely believe that the opposite of love is war, not realizing that war is an essential force for the continuity of love. In fact, in the long haul of life’s ever-changing nature, which often tears things apart in diverging directions rather than converging them, war is the only way to maintain the connective tissues of love.
